Vernon Downs is another racino in upstate New York. The racetrack has had harness racing since the 1950’s and today’s casino lets you wager on the races from the comfort of the gaming venue, along with offering simulcast options. The gaming floor does not offer live table games but does have over 200 electronic games to choose from. The Play $10, Get $10 deal is the promotion for new members of Vernon Downs. Golden Gamers is the top promotion for the casino’s rewards members that are 55+, allowing them $5 at the buffet and a $5 free play after earning 55 points.

Vernon Downs isn’t just a casino with a racetrack. It’s also a hotel with guest rooms and suite accommodations. The hotel is family friendly and includes an indoor heated pool along with an indoor play section for children. The casino has a number of dining options to choose from.

They have a sports bar, along with several restaurants. Kids under 5 eat for free. The venue is about 40 miles east of Syracuse and if you’re a big baseball fan, head about an hour southeast and you’ll find the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. If you come towards the end of July you could get a chance to see some of your favorite players get inducted into the Hall of Fame.
