Much like the rewards program that we mentioned in our Caesars NY review, BetMGM NY has its own rewards program to distinguish itself from its competitors.

Players can earn points for placing bets with BetMGM NY, and they are rewarded with a range of benefits. From exclusive offers to incredible experiences, like free dining and stays at a number of BetMGM resorts.

You can even earn free bets on your birthday, and on your anniversary of joining the BetMGM rewards program. The amount credited does depend on which tier of rewards you make it to, with a number of tiers available which you ascend through by collecting rewards points.

In total, BetMGM NY lists 13 different markets. Whilst some will contain numerous options, such as football listing both NFL and NCAA games, BetMGM fails to cover as many markets as the likes of FanDuel NY which offers a whopping 19 markets.

When it comes to odds comparison, we at ny-bookies.com decided to look at the upcoming fixtures from the MLB. For this example, we looked at the New York Mets game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

On the Moneyline, BetMGM NY was offering +135 on the Mets, and -163 on the Phillies. Their offering on the Mets was better than FanDuel NY (+128) by +7, but their odds on the Phillies were -11 worse compared to FanDuel NY’s odds of -152.

This shows that whilst it offers better odds on the outside bet that is less likely to come in, on the favored outcomes, you are going to have to wager more money to see a return.

BetMGM NY is one of a select few providers who have been licensed by regulators in NY, following the legalization of online sports betting on January 8th, 2022. Allowing them to publish their desktop site and mobile betting application for the public.

The BetMGM NY website does one thing that many other sportsbooks don’t – it utilizes the space on their web pages. Some sportsbooks have fixtures listed for upcoming games, and a couple of bets available. But there is so much blank space not used and it looks wasteful.

The official BetMGM NY app is available on Android on the Google Play store, and also on iOS devices available on Apple’s App Store. The app is much more optimized than the website, navigation is seamless, transitioning from page to page in a flash with just a quick tap here and a swipe there.

But beyond being intuitive, it was also nice to see you can access everything from your existing bets that are live, to those bets that have been settled, as well as also being able to access your MGM Rewards too. To see where you currently stand and what offers are available.

The help and contact part of the website is actually really well designed. Once you click to go through to the help section, it lists a number of areas you may need help with. Clicking these offers a selection of further options relating to common queries customers have, helping direct you to relevant information.

If you are unable to find help through their automated system, it will then ask you to either contact their live chat team which is available 24/7, or to email their customer support team. It doesn’t offer an approximate time for a response on the email, but we sent a couple of queries off, and the longest we waited was around about 13 hours, and that included time throughout the night when there are likely fewer people responding to emails.

BetMGM has the makings to be one of the best sportsbooks in NY, but its market options and odds on favored betting options are lacking compared to competitors. However, it has one of the better desktop sites and a really good mobile app. It also has great promotions, and it’s nice to see it customizes offers for customers through the BetMGM rewards program.
